Why I Made This

A letter, first person.

I didn’t make this because the church needs more content. I made it because the Gospel of Matthew is the realest story I know, and I was tired of hearing it carried by second-hand sound. The Word deserves the culture’s best — not a watered-down copy of it.

So I went chapter by chapter. All twenty-eight. I chose them, shaped every lyric from the King James text, set the sound of each track, and sequenced the record like a season. Nothing added to the Word, nothing sanded off it. When a bar and a verse fought, the verse won. Every time.

You won’t find my name in lights here, and that’s on purpose. This project is fronted by the work, not by me. The Book of Matthew is the artist; the work is the face. I’m not hiding — I’m just not the point. The point is you and Matthew in the same room, with the volume up.

Now the part I will always say out loud: the music is produced with AI tools. Not long ago, an AI persona topped the Christian charts with no one behind it — no person, no conviction, no hand on the wheel — and when the truth surfaced, the backlash wasn’t about the tool. It was about the deception. I want the opposite of that. A real human, real faith, unaltered scripture, and the instrument named plainly — because I’d rather you trust us than be impressed by us.

So here is the commitment, plain: scripture quoted true, a human hand on every choice, the tools disclosed every single time. The instrument is new. The Word is not. If this record gets one kid to open Matthew for real, it already did its job.
